A few pics from Lakeland yesterday

Postby pete37038 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:44 pm

Did an 11m route yesterday around Martindale, 5 caches, 5 Wainwrights, and 1 trig, a stunning walk with arguably the best weather of the year so far, T shirt walking one minute then 3 layers and thick snow the next..... Also a first for me and my mate, saw a live Badger, neither of us had seen one in the wild before apart from dead at the side of the road, we saw it at just under 2000ft, I had no idea they lived up the fells at that height.

I was gonna ask who that funny looking guy was, that made that tiny lord of the rings pebble tower. But I wont, the pictures are grand so I can't be bothered to find out.

Ace, some great shots Jay, I'll wap a load of Scottish Highland ones up tomorrow, toying about with the camera settings yesterday I've had really mixed resuts, The Scotland one's somehow seemed miles better, had about 7 yesterday I wan't happy with, but loads I was really pleased with, the real beuaty of digital - take 100's a day, no more huge film and development charges 8-)

Fab pictures :D
Was up in that area on Saturday, but a bit furter over (Arthur's Pike etc.). Awesome views, so much snow on the high tops! Also loads of snowdrops still down at road level.
Saw a dead badger by the road at Howtown, :( it looked fresh, hope it wasn't the same one that you saw.

Very disappointed!!

When I saw the title "A few pics from Lakeland yesterday" I was expecting pitures of useful labour saving gadgets and nick-nacks from the well-known purveyor of household goods.

I was most perturbed to find a selection of nature scenes!

;)
