Was it raining?

I nipped into town this afternoon - got bloody soaked just walking from home to the bus stop :(

Only went to Argus to get a shopping trolley - can't carry loads of shopping like I used to be able to. The very helpful girl at the collection counter kindly assembled the trolley for me. Then caught the bus to Asda to get dog food and some grub for the ferrets and walked back... no need to wait for a bus just to go two stops now I've got the trolley.

Had a look at the ash trees at the Astley Bridge and from the looks of things they've got that disease. Must look it up on the web site to check.
I ferret proofed my house... but they still keep getting in

Hope you're going to do a PQ before you attempt them as Nick has been busy archiving some caches, some Dearden Brook ones among them.

I'd like to attempt some of Nick's caches but the closeness of the contours on the 1:25000 OS maps rather puts me off  Looks like I'm going to have to stick to his earthcaches...

Keep your eyes open on that area, as I still have got plans for hopefully some more. There are ways to get up on those moors, and to find some without meeting some of the closest contours.

Have a good time on Boulsworth. Hope that you get a good day for it, and for the caches up on the moor.

Well one day I suppose it will stop raining and I'll get a chance to visit these caches! No-one has claimed any finds up on Boulsworth since New Year so I guess the event wasn't a huge success - in The Lakes midnight was the best part of the days with moon and stars out everywhere.

The event is on saturday morning, you should see a few finds after that.

have to dig out the spare batteries for my torch and check that they are both working. :?

Ooops - yes - sorry, just assumed it was actually on New Year. As hasn't stopped raining for weeks and is forecast to continue I assume that it will be possible to drown yourself on top of Boulsworth! Although most of the logs have only recently been replaced I'll bet that several are already soaked so carrying spares recommended!

When I was last up Boulsworth everything wet was frozen solid. Made for good walking. Really cold though, but managed to brew up near Lad Law.

I can testify that up round the Big Walk, it was chucking it down like anything this afternoon. Been out again. Got really drenching. My Montone Pile Top ended up like a wet towel in the end, and my new walking trousers were saturated. Even the inside of my alpkit gourdon started to take on water, but I think that was because I kept on opening it to get plastic boxes out.

Yes, keep on finding some interesting places up on the hills. Some which take a bit of a challenge to get to / find. At present, that is it with the series, but not saying that is the end of them.

40 of them found today and although it started out sunny I was pretty wet and knackered by the time I got back to the car.
Many thanks Nick.
Surprised not to see more folks out on the moors - at least in the morning.
