Tried and I still like the apple maps. The sat images for the areas I have compared are more upto date on apple than on google.

Here some screen shots from my phone. (Using work as my example because I know the changes that have happened)

Hmm, disappointing that the sat maps are so old, in the old gmaps app I'm sure you could spot the trampoline in our garden, can't see it now on the new version - why use older sat images? Hmmm.
